The Yakushima Environmental and Cultural Foundation was established in March,1993 by Kagoshima Prefecture, Yakushima Town (old Kamiyaku town, and Yaku Town).

The foundation is the central organization devoted to the promotion of “Yakushima Environmental and Cultural Village Concept”
